Etsy is a really incredible marketplace originally created to provide artists with a convenient way to connect with customers specifically interested in purchasing handmade products. The site has evolved significantly over the years and now includes products manufactured by print on demand (POD) companies featuring the original artwork of Etsy sellers, a format that has been very helpful to me and allowed me to offer my designs on so many unique items.
I hand make all my paper products like cake toppers and stickers and use a sublimation printer and heat press to produce many of my smaller items like mirror compacts and name badges. However, very large or unusually shaped items like blankets, wallpaper, or backpacks simply cannot be made using my small, home equipment, and the use of POD companies has allowed me to offer my designs on all sorts of items that I simply could not have previously.
It is truly heartwarming to think of my customers enjoying a bright and whimsical pillow, blanket, or deskmat each day. That some of my designs can help bring about awareness for various issues or help spread some positivity in the world is a wonderful bonus.
